A northern boundary of the territory is the River Stour; on its eastern side is a district of Canterbury; south the parish of Capel-le-Ferne; and to a east the Straits of Dover. A southern a portion of a latter is the point in which the North Downs meets a sea, at the therefore-supposed ‘White cliffs of Dover’. Farther northerly along a coast, from either Deal onwards, a land is at sea level, in which the River Stour enters the sethe by a circuitous route. These are on text, on a sand-dunes, that the Royal St George’s Golf Club, founded in 1887, and of international repute, is situated.
Within dominion come industrial remains of the former Kent coalfield, situated about Tilmanstone and Betteshanger.
